Amazon invests 100 million dollars in Jalisco; will generate 1,500 jobs

In the state of Jalisco, the opening of a new Amazon Distribution Center was completed , with this, the region remains an attractive entity for investments.

This new Shipping Center of the e-commerce company will be operating in the municipality of Tlajomulco, and from there the associates will collect, pack and send the orders of the clients, which will allow them to micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) , reduce marketing times and costs.

The expansion of Amazon in Mexico will generate 1,500 direct and indirect jobs   and 100 million dollars of investment in infrastructure.

Ernesto Sánchez Proal, head of the Ministry of Economic Development (Sedeco), stressed that the arrival of Amazon is the result of the Ministry's work to continue attracting new investments that favor the productive chain, and trigger growth.

 "The fact that a company like Amazon decides to come to Jalisco is a sign of the confidence we are giving to these international investors through our investment attraction strategy, but also through our digital transformation strategies for SMEs and logistics hub, "he said.

Diego Méndez de la Luz, Director of Operations and Fulfillment Services for Amazon in Mexico, commented that the growth of the company's operations in the country reflects the commitment to its customers, while allowing them to offer an unsurpassed service and shopping experience. .

The company assured that the health and well-being of its employees has been an absolute priority since the beginning of the pandemic in Mexico, and therefore, its new buildings integrate the permanent health and safety protocols related to COVID-19.

In addition to the new distribution center in Jalisco, Amazon's expansion in Mexico also includes the opening of another center in Apodaca, Nuevo León; and a building in the State of Mexico along with 12 new delivery stations throughout the country.
