Ambu, a medical device company, arrives in Ciudad Juárez

The company Ambu performed the laying of the first stone  of what will be its new plant, which will be located in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

Ambu is a Danish company, a global leader in the medical industry and is expected to create 500 new jobs in the entity. 

This new plant will be built within the Intermex Industrial Park , located in the south of the city. 

The company announced that “to support the rapid growth of our display business and move to a dual-source manufacturing model, we are establishing a new plant in Mexico. We hope that it will be fully operational in the 2022-2023 financial year ”. 

"Until the Mexican plant is operational, the available capacity in Malaysia will be more than adequate to support anticipated demand from Ambu's portfolio of single-use endoscopes," he added.

At Ambu they develop, produce and market diagnostic and life support devices for hospitals and rescue services . It has three business areas : visualization, anesthesia, and patient monitoring and diagnosis .

According to the company, its most important products are ventilation bags for artificial respiration, display devices, masks, circuits and single-use electrodes for ECG testing and neurophysiological mapping.

Among those attending the event to kick off the construction of the plant in Ciudad Juárez were Fabiola Luna, president of index Ciudad Juárez, and Rodolfo Vázquez, undersecretary of Economic Development.
