The Finance Secretariat of the Government of Guanajuato created an initial fund of 100 million pesos to promote research, transformation of knowledge and technological development in the state.

This was announced by Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, governor of Guanajuato, who assured that with this investment they are giving a clear and firm message to professionals in science, technology and innovation that they will continue to promote research in the region.

Therefore, the new fund has been called Mentefactúralo , and it may be increased in partnership with the private sector , and will be done through the Institute of Innovation, Science and Entrepreneurship for Competitiveness , better known as IDEA GTO .

Rodríguez Vallejo commented that a few days ago the Deputies and Senators of Morena approved by majority, the extinction of 109 trusts affecting many sectors of national life, including science and technology .

Therefore, the president affirmed that this decision would directly affect 3 CONACYT research centers  located in the state and that are widely recognized for their trajectory and their contribution to society: the Center for Applied Innovation and Competitive Technologies (CIATEC) ; the Center for Research in Optics (CIO) and the Center for Research in Mathematics (CIMAT).

In addition, with the extinction of the CONACYT-GUANAJUATO Mixed Fund , globally, about 300 million pesos will no longer be received for the promotion of science, technology and innovation.

Due to this situation, the state will continue to promote science, technology and innovation, areas that are essential for economic reactivation. And each peso allocated to this Fund will contribute directly to consolidate an entrepreneurial, competitive and avant-garde state

“Given these federal cuts that affect Guanajuato, I want to tell you that in adversity creativity arises. And each peso will allow us to continue advancing in the horizon of success that we all want, triumphing nationally and internationally ”, he emphasized.
