Continental Aguascalientes will start operations in 2021

Manufacture of the latest generation components for the cars of the future and with the highest quality standards, will be some of the main characteristics that will distinguish the production of the new Continental Aguascalientes plant. 

The German capital company invested 52 million euros in the installation of its electronic plant in the hydro-warm capital, being the fourth of its kind in the country.

They plan to start operations at the end of this year, as they are waiting to finish equipping the production lines.

Plant Director Ina Seterbakken stressed that the company will supply smart antennas, test control and lighting control units, as well as driver's in-cab safety products for major North American automotive brands.

Some of the concepts that will distinguish the new facilities will be the office area, where they adapted spaces outside the traditional, so they will be open rooms with armchairs, puffs and swings, in addition, they will have a restaurant that will have a concept Mexican and modern finishes so that they are not like everyday industrial dining rooms.

On the other hand, Continental Aguascalientes is going to stand out for being internationally certified in Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, a distinctive of sustainability, energy and the environment, and in the group only three plants have the same and none of them are located in America. 

"The company began to be built in mid-2019, despite the fact that the pandemic delayed construction for two months due to lack of supplies, the infrastructure is completed and will meet the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency, in addition to having with automated and intelligent management and productivity systems ”, he added.

Finally, the director mentioned that the plant is located in the FINSA Industrial Park and will generate around 1,000 new direct jobs.
