Continental will build a hydraulic hose plant in SLP; will invest 40 million dollars

With an investment of 40 million dollars (around 800 million pesos), Continental announced the construction of a new state-of -the-art hydraulic hose production plant in San Luis Potosí. 

The technology company of German origin, Continental, reiterated its confidence in the state of Potosí with the expansion of its hydraulic business in North America and will begin operations in 2024. 

The new production plant will create approximately 150 new direct jobs and the investment will help increase regional manufacturing capabilities and supply chain efficiencies. Additionally, it creates multi-location capabilities throughout the region and is part of Continental's commitment to growth in North America. 

This new production center in Mexico will increase and complement regional manufacturing capabilities that will generate new jobs for the benefit of Potosinos, as well as provide additional wire braiding and spiral wire capacity to meet growing needs in North America.

"Being able to grow in North America is our goal. We have many successful installations in the region that will be complemented by this investment thanks to additional production capacity," said Andreas Gerstenberger, Global Business Area Director, Industrial Fluid Solutions, Continental. . 

For his part, Juan Carlos Valladares Eichelmann, Secretary of Economic Development of San Luis Potosí, said he was optimistic that this decision taken by Continental, and predicted a promising future for companies and for families from Potosí who will be able to access better employment opportunities. .
