Industrial Innovation Center for the aerospace sector is inaugurated

At the Technological Institute of Chihuahua II , the CIIA Industrial Innovation Center for the Aerospace Sector was inaugurated .

This project was carried out thanks to the joint efforts of the Federal Ministry of Economy, the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of the United Mexican States (Concamin), Innovati Consulting Group, the National Technological Institute of Mexico, Aurom Project Control and Repinel Electric Solutions. 

The aerospace industry has more than 45 business operations, which generate more than 17,000 jobs and a total of $ 1 billion in foreign and local investment.

In addition, exports in this area, whose main destinations are the United States, Canada, France and Germany, amounted to more than 1,500 million dollars annually.

In his speech, the governor of Chihuahua, Javier Corral Jurado, pointed out that the aero parts manufactured and assembled in Chihuahua have international certifications and are integrated into commercial, regional and military aircraft of 12 original equipment manufacturers, as well as in more than 60 airlines. Worldwide.

 "This size is the industry that is also leveraged with the Chihuahua Aeroespace Cluster, as well as a Research Center in Advanced Materials with Nadcap Certification, unique at the national level," said the governor.

He added that there is also an important Engineering and Design Center, backed by the Safran Group, as said by its director Daniel Parfait, one of the international groups with the largest presence in the country and of course in Chihuahua.

In this Center, the engineering, design and distribution of the electrical wiring systems for Boeing 787 and Airbus 380 will be carried out. 

“We have launched exclusive programs aimed at promoting innovative ideas, supporting entrepreneurs, intellectual property and patenting. We have strengthened programs for the training and development of human resources, among others ”, declared the governor.

Javier Corral stressed that clear rules have been promoted and the strengthening of the rule of law in the entity, which he assured has allowed or has been the key to encouraging companies such as Cessna, Textron, Dart Aerospace, Safran Zodiak, Cabin, Incora and Castle Metal, have expanded operations in the entity. 

He argued that the ecosystem of this sector in Chihuahua is one of the most important in Mexico. 

These projects will contribute to the value chain generally in three ways: first, by building capacities, then by supporting and developing research, development and innovation activities, and finally, by promoting the commercialization of the fruits of these activities. . 

“Innovation is a development engine and requires constant investment, as well as trained human resources. Because this enhances competitiveness and sustained growth, "said the president.

Governor Javier Corral thanked the hospitality of the Instituto Tecnológico Nacional de México Campus, Chihuahua 2 and its director, Dr. Luisa Yolanda Quiñones Montenegro, as well as the general director, Dr. Enrique Fernández Fassnacht.
