With the aim of promoting innovation and technology development from Guanajuato and that this is carried out in a transversal way, the need arises to create an Innovation Cluster, which already has the integration of the various institutes and innovation centers of the entity.

Héctor Plascencia, research professor in the Engineering Division of the University of Guanajuato and director of the Guanajuato Innovation Cluster, reported that through this body it is intended to integrate the entire innovation ecosystem that already exists in the region and that has been strengthened over the years.

"Technological change as part of the pandemic, made us understand that we will make use of innovation and various tools to help us evolve. From SMEs they can analyze that there is a change in the business model, and to achieve this, support, advice, training and methodologies are required ”, he commented.

He said that this cluster brings together talent from the region and various parts of the country to provide knowledge and experience in the sector, since innovation can be developed in any sector and even interact with other clusters .

The services that the cluster will provide are: generation of innovation, which is technical assistance, digital education and skills training; crowfounding, as well as source banks and funding mechanisms ; an innovation platform, where alliances will be sought with other clusters, institutions, citizens and companies; an observatory of industries, a tool that will verify megatrends at the national and global level; an open innovation platform, that is, a link between companies and academia will be sought to join forces and increase the participation and use of local talent. In addition, it will seek to facilitate technological exchange participations To generate innovative talent through a Technological Competence Center, an innovative talent club and various events will be created for the integration of the general public.

For his part, Juan Carlos Díaz, counselor at Innbiosys, mentioned that with this cluster the knowledge generated from government institutions is decentralized, as it arises from the Citizen Council of Innovation where vocations and initiatives aimed at promoting Guanajuato towards was of knowledge.

Gabriela Olmedo, director of the Cinvestav Irapuato Unit, commented that this cluster brings together companies and institutes with different affinities; however, it seeks to create connection bridges between them to generate collaboration.
