The government of Tamaulipas and the Mexican-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Camexa) signed a collaboration agreement.

This agreement frames the good relationship between both parties and shows the chamber's interest in working in three sectors between this state and Germany.

The signing of this agreement, which was transmitted virtually and symbolically, was attended by Carlos Alberto García González, Secretary of Economic Development of Tamaulipas; María Antonieta Gómez, in charge of the Energy Commission in Tamaulipas; Johannes Hauser, general director of Camexa, and Andreas Müller, deputy director of Camexa.

Carlos García highlighted that this agreement is a sign of the commitment to the entity's development and prosperity.

"Tamaulipas is the twelfth largest economy in the country. It is the logistics state par excellence; we are consolidating our energy position and occupy the first places in foreign trade," mentioned the state official.

He added that this has been possible due to national and foreign investors' trust, such as Germany, which is the fifth largest investor in Tamaulipas.

This agreement promotes cooperation and collaboration in energy policies and programs, efficiency, sustainability, education, mobility, research in science and technology between Camexa and the government of Tamaulipas.

María Antonieta Gómez reaffirmed the Energy Commission's commitment to fulfilling the objective of this agreement.

"The focus topics of this memorandum are undoubtedly the determining factors about how a country or region faces the challenges of the future and positions itself in the national and international arena," said Johannes Hauser.

One of Tamaulipas' most significant competitive advantages is its potential for clean energy production. The state is, without a doubt, a strategic point in the production of new energies at a global level.

The growth opportunities do not stop in this sector, and the collaborations between countries benefit the promotion of investment, generating growth for both entities.

The constant promotion of the region and the favorable conditions for investments in clean energy has made Tamaulipas a reference in the energy sector globally.

In addition, the confidence in the competitive advantages and optimal conditions in this state for the generation of clean energies has boosted foreign investment.

"Tamaulipas-Germany: Perspectives and opportunities for the industry and the energy sector" included presentations by the government of Tamaulipas and Nordex Group, a German company that manufactures high-power wind turbines, which shared its experience as an investor in the state through Albert Sunyer, general director in Mexico.

Nordex has a presence in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, municipality chosen by this company to install its operations plant due to the advantage of the proximity to the U.S., an important market for the company. Another advantage is the port's strategic location that will allow -once it starts operations- maneuvering these types of components.

"We have had great support from the government of Tamaulipas in all areas to be able to install in the country; from permits, facilities, educational issues, among others," said Sunyer.

Regarding the educational issue, Albert Sunyer added that one of the most important aspects, when a company sets up, is to have the qualified labor necessary to be able to manufacture specialized products, especially in this case when they come from an industry that was not so well known in Mexico.
