Whirlpool will consolidate its presence in Coahuila. The world manufacturer of kitchen and laundry appliances will invest more than 120 million dollars to expand its infrastructure and production lines at its plant in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila.

With this, the company will manufacture the French Door , its new refrigerator model. This model is characterized by having the freezer in the lower part and multi-doors, depending on its configuration.

The investment in the Ramos Arizpe plant includes an increase in the production capacity of side-by-side (SXS ) refrigerators , of around 10% from 2022, with an investment of more than 10 million dollars, which will generate 130 direct jobs .

It is expected that the final part of this year will begin with the injection of capital for said expansion, concluding in 2024 to reach the amount of the remaining 110 million dollars for the manufacture of French Door refrigerators, whose production volume will be for 300,000 units per year.

The industrial warehouse that will be built will have an area of 30,000 square meters and will generate 1,000 jobs for the population, in addition to the 2,945 already existing.

The company reported that they expect to have a national supply of components and raw materials like the one they currently have, which corresponds to 60% of requirements.
